Changing School District Boundaries The new Proximity school district boundary files enable map based analyses and related GIS operations using current school district boundaries. In many areas of the nation, school districts boundaries have changed substantially since Census 2000. This section shows an example of how districts have changed in San Diego County, California. Elementary Districts, 2000 (green fill pattern)
Elementary Districts, 2004 (red outline superimposed on 2000 vintage green fill pattern) Note that 30060 and 40770 in northern part of county, for example, no longer exist in 2004.
Secondary Districts, 2000 (blue fill pattern)
Secondary Districts, 2004 (red outline superimposed on 2000 vintage blue fill pattern) Note that 12910 in northern part of county, for example, has been substantially reduced in geographic scope by 2004.
