2024 American Community Survey
The 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) data products are being released in a staggered schedule. The 1-year estimates were released on September 11, 2025. This includes data for the nation, states, and geographic areas with a population of 65,000 or more.
Additional 2024 ACS Data Release Dates
| • | October 16, 2025: The 2024 ACS 1-year Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) files and 1-year Supplemental Estimates will be released. |
| • | December 11, 2025: The 2020-2024 ACS 5-year estimates will be released. This data covers all geographic areas, including smaller ones like census tracts and block groups. |
| • | January 22, 2026: The 2020-2024 ACS 5-year Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) files will be made available. |
The Census Bureau is also implementing changes to how it collects and reports race and ethnicity data based on updated standards from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). These changes are expected to be fully implemented in the 2027 ACS data collection cycle, with the first data products using the new standards to be released in September 2028.
